As you can tell, I'm actually doing a lot of work on my site. I have
started organizing some stuff so that this page is more navigable, and so
that it can handle more content. I will keep generating this page in HTML
with my magic scripts. It should look good in most browsers because I try
to tend away from silly browser-dependant tags. I check in in Netscape
4.77, lynx, konqueror, and any other browser I happen to have on hand.
Ok, I will tell you all what is happening here. Prom was on saturday. I have some photos and I'll probably put them up on this site. I met with Norma at her house and we went to the restarunt following several pictures. There we met up with our group. I knew 3 people besides Norma there out of about 18 or 20 or so. We had a fun time eating and talking and stuff and spent about 3 hours total there. We got there at around seven and therefore left around 10:00ish. We went to Washtanaw Comunity College where we were having the Prom. It was a really nice affair. On the way in the door I ran in to some friends. We then went down the hallway to have our photos taken. Norma and I didn't pay to have the pro photos done since a zillion photos were being taken every few minutes. We did however get our key chain photo taken. A little thinggy on the back of Norma's dress ripped and she felt really self conscious and didn't want to dance but we convinced her to relax and we went on the dance floor. After a few songs we sat down and she didn't want to dance because she didn't like the music. So I danced with Jasmice (I think that's how it's spelled) once then sat down and was bored for a few minutes. Georga requested a song which Norma liked. After that she was quite active out on the dance floor so we had a bunch of fun. I should interject the embarasing incident of my Retinitis Pigmentosa effecting what I did. I saw my pal Dan there and said hello and put my arm around him and did the heart-warming-heya-man-how-exciting-this-is type things. I was like "So are you here with someone?" and she was standing right next to him. That rates quite nicely as a faux pas. I love this disease! We left the prom at 1:00, got everyone in the right cars (not an easy task), then a good amount of people headed over to Norma'a house. She had a party in her basement. The music mainly constited of Latin-american music and I would have done more dancing if my big toes didn't hurt so bad. I had succeded in rubbing away a good amount of the callus part of the toe and that made it hurt to stand. That went away after a while luckly. I did do the worm and impressed several people. Upon taking off my jacket we noticed a huge ink stain on my jacket. I suppose my fountian pen leaked... Oh well. One can only look so slick for so long I guess. So there was singing and dancing and the such for a while there. Juliana and Norma were singing Kerioke and the were like "Hey Josh, come up here and sing." Now, saying that my singing ability is wanting is quite the understatement. To compound the wonderous fun, one of the only songs in the CD Player that wasn't in Spanish was Sher's "Do you believe in life after love." So that was the song that I was to sing. The only thing that I payed attention to was saying the words. I got several sarcastic compliments on my singing ability, further prooving the utter quality of my singing. I knew that would be the case so I decided to be quite the ham. I showed the intense passion that the song does (or not) have. That consisted of me flailing around way too much, making odd gestures to match the music and always keeping one arm around Norma so that she couldn't sit down and let me suffer alone. That was fun 'cause it was funny. People started leaving and I was just hanging out talking. At some point, I was the only one left there who wasn't spending the night there. Juilanna and Norma went upstairs to sleep. Aldo went in the bed room in the basement. I was there with Yanna and Jasmice. We were talking for a while and they got too tired. So I finally called to get a ride at around 7:00AM or so. By the time Jess got up and drove there, it was about 7:30. I got home ten or so minutes later and stayed up for a little while. I then slept in until 4:00 I had to get my tux to the shop, and then was REALLY late for church. (Church is at 3:00-6:00 right now) Following that was seminary graduation. There were several good talks and good musical numbers. They went through a little bio of all of the graduating seniors and did a slide show for them. I got my Seminary Diploma and my reading certificate. Aperently Tori and Jason were being loud and then when they saw my slide, they started yelling out to me. Hehe, I guess at least that's not as bad as Jess yelling out "Woo Josh!" loud enought that I could hear it. To her it was worth the four years or something. It's been an exciting and fun few days. The fun will continue I'm sure my last week of school here and my graduation on June 7th. The fun following that is different. There's a lot less pomp and circumstance. It's different but you've gotta love it. |
